Why Gym at my school makes no sense

Ok so today was the start of a new semester at my school and i got assigned to gym class.
So as I entered gym class I see a teacher and he was fat and I asked where was the gym teacher and he said "I am."
So I just walked away in shock because i mean he weighs like 350.
